artist
through school to becoming a self developed artist, passionate about portraits,
fibre arts, jewellery, outsider art, including sculpture
liturgical art - for use in community religious spaces and ceremonies

art facilitator
of groups - adult and younger
to explore texture, line and colour
    and awake enthusiasm for exploration
while gathering and developing gifts and skills

teacher
i retired early from high school educating English, Geography and Religious Studies
to focus on craft classes in a wide range of mixed media:
fibre arts including dyeing, batik, printing, painting and stitching, especially applique

cement sculpting, hypertufa, recycled and general decorative art and craft
from pewter to working with wood, shell, stone, bone, glass, plastic, paper and clay
i'm keen to embrace students of oils on canvas through to stamping on paper
while i'm confident teaching silk painting i will never presume to teach watercolours

crafter
i have had my own shop in the 80s with three others selling a range of our own crafts,
i specialized for a while in original designer clothing, funky jewellery & amazing bags,
i have made, appliqued and screen printed school wear for teachers, toddlers and playschools
in fact anything that would allow me to earn enough to be able to work from home

designer
my great forte is combining my theological knowledge with sewing skills, designing
ability with flair for texture and colour, in producing one-of-a-kind liturgical art pieces
(wearable and display) - I wish I had more time to focus on these
i've also done advertising, interior and exterior work at Sherwood Garden Centre
    quilts for community projects
    logos

any challenge that tickles me - or tempts me

poet
this is intensely private - hopefully I'll get the courage to share some day

wanna-be-photographer
if it stays still, shoot it
if it moves, still shoot it

partner
to Peter, beloved and best friend, home builder and ideas bouncer and stabiliser
to Monique in work and friendship - more than half a century - our story goes back as
far as our mothers being in the church choir while pregnant with us; we went through
school together and now write our books and magazines together - she keeps me on my toes

parent
of three interesting, almost all adult, offspring; John, Liz and Gemma,
who are all so different and always very precious to me

child
    to two creative souls:
  •     my beloved mother - an amazing octogenarian
  •     my fantastic dad - primary source of creative energy who left a legendary legacy & who is never far from
me - still in my mind and heart
